Dear Candidates,
I am making all the arrangements for the telematic PhD defenses that will start tomorrow. Two requests and some information.
1. Request #1 - Presentations
At the beginning of the Skype session you will be asked to show yourself on the screen and also exhibit a valid identity document (Identity card, passport, etc). After that, you will share the screen so that the examination board can follow your presentation. Please, respect very strictly the planned time (25 min) because the teleconference is likely to cause some delay in the passage from one candidate to the next one.
We should be ready to deal with some malfunctioning, e.g. the audio works but video is unstable. For this reason, I am asking you to upload your presentation in the following folder.

In case of video malfunctioning, we will be able to go on with audio-only connection, since the members of the examination board will have a copy of the presentation on their desktop.
The preferred format for the slides is pdf, but also Power Point (though less stable when passing by one operating system to the other) will go.
Please:
(i) use your surname as title of the pdf/PowerPoint file, e.g. Acerbi.pdf
(ii) indicate in the front slide
- Your skype name
- The skype name of your supervisor
Although this information should be already available to me (at least the skype name of the candidates) it is good to know that we can retrieve that information quickly.
2. Request #2 (if you can/want)
Again for robustness, I would like to have a backup contact channel, e.g. your phone number. You can add it in the front slide of your presentation, or, if you prefer to keep it confidential, send it to me.
3. Information: schedule and committees
Below, you can find the schedule (it follows the original plan, that I attach for you convenience). You can also find the composition of the committee (there are three different committees because of a joint degree and a XXXI-cycle candidate).
