Gentili Dottorandi,

l'8 giugno 2020 si inaugura il programma pavese di Intensive Schools for
Advanced Graduate Studies <https://isags-pavia.unipv.it/> con la scuola “A
Smart Grid For Energy Management: The Iot Approach”
<https://isags-pavia.unipv.it/smartgrid/>. Le attività della Scuola si
svolgeranno interamente *online* e *la partecipazione è gratuita e aperta a
dottorandi *pavesi e non. Il programma dettagliato e il modulo di
iscrizione sono disponibili sul sito https://isags-pavia.unipv.it/smartgrid/
.

La scuola è organizzata dai professori Francesco Benzi, Paolo Di Barba e
Piero Malcovati in collaborazione con il Dottor Roberto Galdi (Dipartimento
di Ingegneria Industriale e dell’Informazione).

Oggi, la disponibilità di fonti di energia rinnovabili e innovative insieme
a quelle termiche rende il flusso di energia bidirezionale tra la rete e le
fonti distribuite un concetto chiave, che richiede quindi un controllo più
intelligente (Smart Grid).

A questo proposito, il corso si propone di fornire una panoramica generale
dei sistemi e dei dispositivi che caratterizzano la smart grid, nonché una
panoramica su modelli, algoritmi e strategie per la distribuzione ottimale
delle risorse energetiche.

Il tema è di grande attualità e in evoluzione, grazie alle recenti
tecnologie abilitanti (approccio IoT, *cloud data*, nuove strategie di
controllo). D’altra parte, però, l'insieme di questi argomenti non è ancora
pienamente integrato nei *curricula* di ingegneria e il Corso mira a
colmare questa lacuna.

L'approccio di controllo deve includere, come obiettivi primari, la
sicurezza dell'approvvigionamento energetico e la sostenibilità ambientale,
facendo anche sistematicamente riferimento agli aspetti economici propri
del mercato dell’energia.

Pertanto, il corso copre un ampio spettro di discipline, con un approccio
coordinato che integra le competenze diversificate di esperti relatori.

Si tratta della prima di una serie di scuole dedicate ai dottorandi –
le Intensive
School for Advanced Graduate Studies <https://isags-pavia.unipv.it/> –
selezionate
dalla Scuola di Alta Formazione Dottorale e caratterizzate da
interdisciplinarietà e da un corpo docente di elevata qualità scientifica.

Il prossimo appuntamento a settembre 2020 con l’Intensive School in Machine

professori Luisa Bernardinelli e Davide Gentilini (Dipartimento di Scienze

*Nowadays, the availability of renewable and innovative energy sources
along with the standard thermal ones makes the bidirectional energy flow
between the grid and distributed sources a key concept, thus requiring a
smarter control (Smart Grid). In this respect, the course aims at giving a
general overview of systems and devices, characterizing the smart grid, as
well as an insight on models, algorithms and strategies for the optimal
distribution of energy resources. This issue is of very current interest
and in evolution, thanks to recent enabling technologies (IoT approach,
cloud data, novel control strategies). On the other hand, however, all
these topics are not yet fully considered in engineering curricula, so that
the proposed Course aims at bridging the gap. The approach must include, as
a primary goal, such relevant issues as a safe energy provision and
environment sustainability, also asking for a systematic use of economic
issues implied with the energy market. Therefore, the course covers a large
spectrum of disciplines, asking for a coordinated approach and merging
different skills covered in this proposal by expert speakers.*

and young researchers, but also professional engineers operating in the
industry area.*
