As part of the series of seminars *"Insalate di Matematica"*, Jacopo
Somaglia, postdoc at the University of Milan, will deliver an online talk.

*Title*: *"An overview on the Suslin's problem*
*"*

*Abstract*: In 1920 at the end of the first volume of the journal
*Fundamenta Mathematicae* a list of problems appeared. Among them M. Suslin
posed the following question:



*Un ensemble ordonné (linéairement) sans sauts ni lacunes et tel que
tout ensemble de ses intervalles (contenant plus qu'un
\'{e}l\'{e}ment) n'empi\'{e}tant pas les uns sur les autres *

*est au plus dénumerable, est-il nécessairement un continue linéaire
(ordinaire)?*


In this talk it will be presented an overview with a shortcut of the
strategy behind the solution of this classical problem in set theory.
