Dear all,

as a part of the series of seminars *"Insalate di Matematica"*,
we remind you that today there is a seminar held by *Lorenzo Pompili
(*Rheinische
Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn).
Moreover, we remind you that the talk will be held online and it will also
be broadcast in room 3014 (building U5-Ratio, Università degli Studi di
Milano-Bicocca) by prior reservation at the link
https://sites.google.com/view/insalate-di-matematica/reservation?authuser=0
You will be required to exhibit your green pass at the entrance of the
building.

Here the details:

*Speaker*: *Lorenzo Pompili** (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität
Bonn)*

*Date and time*: *24**th March 2022, 2:00 pm (CET)*

*Title*: *"On the KdV equation and complete integrability: from some nice
algebra to the analysis of (some) PDEs**"*

*Webex link*:

 (*Password*: Insalate)

*Abstract*: In this talk we will consider the KdV equation as a point of
view to discuss the rich framework of properties of completely integrable
PDEs: we will look at the Lax-pair formulation, the inverse scattering
transform, soliton-addition maps, the Miura map, which are all features of
these special nonlinear models that have been known since some decades and
have found a rigorous analytic treatment more recently to establish several
new results. We will then give some insights about the current research
project under the supervision of Prof. H. Koch on the KPII equation.

*Keywords*: Dispersive equations - KdV, KPII - inverse scattering - Lax
pair - completely integrable PDEs - Miura map - solitary waves -
soliton stability.

*** We inform you that the talk will be recorded and uploaded on our
website. If you join the talk after the starting time, we kindly ask you to
ensure that your microphone and webcam are turned off ***

We are looking forward to seeing you!
