Dear students,
on November, 14th, prof. Mattia Zanella will begin an advanced short course
for the IUSS (https://www.iusspavia.it/). The syllabus is available online
at:

https://iusspavia.coursecatalogue.cineca.it/insegnamenti/2024/3080/2012/9999/10030

The main program is the following:
***
We present a systematic review of key results on the derivation of
classical epidemiological models from microscopic agent-based dynamics. The
transmission of infection in large populations is coupled with behavioral
aspects in the agents' dynamics, offering insights into how individual
behaviors influence macroscopic epidemiological trends. The derivation of
these models often involves physical or social forces that are empirically
deduced, with limited available information.
To create realistic descriptions of these systems, it is crucial to manage
the propagation of uncertainties across scales. Moreover, assessing
uncertainties in data assimilation is essential for designing efficient
interventions that result in robust control strategies, ultimately
mitigating the uncertainties present at the macroscopic level.

And the calendar is:
14, 21, 28 November and 5 December, 18:00-20:00, sede Marelli dello IUSS
29 November 15:00-17:00, sede Marelli IUSS.

If you need additional information, you can contact prof. Zanella (in cc).

Best regards,
Stefano and Luca
