Dear all,

The Department of Mathematics now has an account on *Zulip*, a
communication platform designed for structured and collaborative
discussions.

      *What is Zulip?*

Zulip is an open-source messaging system that combines the best aspects
of email and real-time chat. It is particularly useful for scientific
research and academic collaboration due to its conversation system based
on *streams* (thematic channels) and *topics* (sub-discussions). This
structure allows for effective and non-disruptive communication, making
it easy to follow and participate in discussions even after time has passed.

*How can it be useful for the Department?*

  *

Organized and asynchronous discussion of research topics.

  *

Coordination of workgroups and scientific projects.

  *

Quick communication about seminars, events, and department initiatives.

  *

Well-structured discussions: thanks to streams and topics,
discussions remain organized, avoiding the loss of important
    information.

  *

Effective communication across different groups: Zulip enables the
creation of dedicated streams for seminars, announcements,
    collaboration requests, courses, and more.

  *

Searchable archive: messages can be easily searched, allowing quick
access to past discussions and information.

  *

Enhanced collaboration: the platform facilitates sharing ideas,
resources, and academic updates more efficiently than traditional
    emails.

  *

*Support for LaTeX and formatted code*: Zulip allows writing
mathematical formulas in LaTeX and formatted code, making it
particularly useful for technical and academic discussions.

      *How to join?*
