Dear all,
The PhD course "Advances in Numerical Methods in Scientific Computing" will
start soon. The course will introduce Riemannian optimization and then
focus on optimization techniques for PDEs and machine learning, covering
topics ranging from energy minimization problems in quantum physics to
learning techniques for neural networks.

The course consists of twelve two-hour sessions and is structured as a
reading course. After an introductory lecture, each participant will be
expected to read and present approximately two papers during the course -
one in the first part and one in the second part.

The expected start date is mid-April, and the course will then follow a
semi-regular schedule for approximately two months. The schedule can be
adjusted according to the availability of interested students.

If you are interested in this course, please let us know by the end of *Monday,
April 7th*. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

All the best,
Giancarlo and Carlo
