Ciao a tutti, mercoledì alle 15, quasi certamente in aula Beltrami (e
altrimenti in sala conferenze imati), Davide farà un seminario
informale dal titolo
"Do wave equations dream of Bochner spaces?"
e abstract
"Establishing an isomorphism between appropriate data and solution
spaces for the acoustic wave equation is a challenging problem that is
currently receiving growing attention in numerical analysis. To address
this issue, I will propose an approach based on Bourgain spaces,
originally introduced by Jean Bourgain in the context of dispersive
equations (e.g., Schrödinger and Korteweg-de Vries equations). Unlike
classical Bochner spaces, whose tensor structure strictly separates
spatial and temporal variables, these spaces intrinsically couple them.
This space-time entanglement proves to be fundamental in treating wave
phenomena. Accordingly, I will first detail the properties of Bourgain
spaces and illustrate how this framework fully recovers the
isomorphism. Time permitting, I will explore how these continuous
results can be extended to numerical discretizations."
Gentilmente propagate l'informazione ai potenziali interessati.
Andrea
