For the *next appointment* of the series of seminars "Insalate di
Matematica", *Susanna Bertolini* (ETH Zürich) will give a talk.
The speaker will deliver the talk *in presence* and the meeting will also
be broadcasted *online* (see below for more information).

*Date and time*: *27th of May 2026, 4:45 pm (CEST)*

*Title*: "Generic Regularity in the Obstacle Problem"

*Abstract*: The Obstacle Problem arises naturally when studying an elastic
membrane constrained by contact with an object (the obstacle). In this
talk, we introduce the notion of solutions of the classical Obstacle
Problem, discuss some applications, and discuss the main challenges in
proving generic regularity of the free boundary in higher dimensions. This
is based on a joint work in progress with A. Figalli and J. Serra.
