In this talk, I will start with an overview on these equations and related problems. The goal, then, is to present a recent result that studies the dynamics of the β-plane equation under the effect of a highly oscillating forcing term of substantial large size, therefore not perturbative. Moreover, we will assume the external forcing term to be a traveling quasi-periodic wave in order to resolve a natural and important degeneracy that arises from the rotation of the fluid. After the statement of the main theorem, I will give the main ideas for the construction of such solutions.</span><br style="padding:0px;margin:0px;box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(61,61,61);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px"><span style="color:rgb(61,61,61);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px">This is a joint work with Roberta Bianchini, Riccardo Montalto and Shulamit Terracina.</span><br></div><div><span style="color:rgb(61,61,61);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px"><br></span></div><div><span style="color:rgb(61,61,61);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px;font-variant-ligatures:normal;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial">-----------------------------------------</span></div><div><span style="color:rgb(61,61,61);font-family:Roboto,sans-serif;font-size:15px;font-variant-ligatures:normal;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial"><a href="https://matematica.unipv.it/ricerca/cicli-di-seminari/seminari-di-matematica-applicata/" target="_blank">https://matematica.unipv.it/ricerca/cicli-di-seminari/seminari-di-matematica-applicata/</a><div class="gmail-yj6qo"></div><div class="gmail-adL"></div><div class="gmail-adL"></div></span></div><br class="gmail-Apple-interchange-newline"></div>
