data-end="199">Zulip</strong>, a communication platform designed
for structured and collaborative discussions.</p>

data-start="288" data-end="306">What is Zulip?</strong></h3>
<p data-start="309" data-end="748" class="">Zulip is an open-source
messaging system that combines the best aspects of email and
real-time chat. It is particularly useful for scientific research
and academic collaboration due to its conversation system based on
<strong data-start="527" data-end="538">streams</strong> (thematic
channels) and <strong data-start="563" data-end="573">topics</strong>
(sub-discussions). This structure allows for effective and
non-disruptive communication, making it easy to follow and
participate in discussions even after time has passed.</p>
