Cari tutti,

Venerdì 19/06/2026 sarà il mio ultimo giorno di lavoro.

 Ora che i camici sono appesi e le luci del laboratorio si sono spente per
me, sento il bisogno di scrivervi per esprimere l'emozione profonda che
porto nel cuore.

In tutti questi anni, il mio compito è stato quello di prendermi cura della
sterilizzazione Dietro ogni provetta, ogni vetrino e ogni sequenziamento,
c'era il mio lavoro silenzioso, fatto per garantirvi di poter cercare
risposte ai grandi segreti della vita. Sapere che il mio contributo, nel
mio piccolo, ha supportato le vostre ricerche e i vostri studi mi hanno
sempre riempito di orgoglio, ma l'emozione più grande me l'avete regalata
voi un mesetto fa. Vedere una partecipazione così massiccia, calorosa e
commovente alla mia festa di pensionamento mi ha letteralmente tolto il
fiato. Guardare tutti i professori, colleghi tecnici, amministrativi,
giovani borsisti e studenti uniti per festeggiare il mio pensionamento, mi
ha fatto capire una cosa fondamentale: in questi anni non abbiamo solo
condiviso un luogo di lavoro, ma abbiamo costruito una vera famiglia.

Ringrazio i professori per la costante stima e il rispetto umano.

Ringrazio tutti i miei colleghi per la complicità, il supporto e le risate
nei momenti di pausa e ringrazio i giovani borsisti, assegnisti, studenti,
la vostra energia e il vostro entusiasmo mi hanno mantenuto lo spirito
giovane ogni singolo giorno.

Lascio la genetica ai vostri talenti e porto con me l'affetto immenso che
mi avete dimostrato. Grazie di cuore per aver reso memorabile la fine di
questo mio viaggio lavorativo.

Vi auguro il meglio per le vostre ricerche e per le vostre vite.

Dear everyone,

Friday, June 19th, 2026, will be my last day of work.

Now that my lab coat is hung up and the laboratory lights have gone out for
me, I feel the need to write to you to express the deep emotion I carry in
my heart.

Throughout all these years, my task has been to take care of sterilization.
Behind every test tube, every slide, and every sequencing, there was my
quiet work, done to ensure you could search for answers to the great
secrets of life. Knowing that my contribution, in my own small way,
supported your research and studies has always filled me with pride.
However, you gave me the greatest emotion about a month ago. Seeing such a
massive, warm, and moving participation in my retirement party literally
took my breath away. Seeing all the professors, fellow technicians,
administrative staff, young fellows, and students united to celebrate my
retirement made me realize something fundamental: over these years, we
didn’t just share a workplace, but we built a true family.

I would like to thank the professors for their constant esteem and personal
respect.

Thank you to all my colleagues for the camaraderie, support, and laughs
during our breaks. And thank you to the young fellows, researchers, and
students—your energy and enthusiasm kept my spirit young every single day.

I leave genetics to your talents, and I carry with me the immense affection
you have shown me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the end
of this professional journey so memorable.

I wish you all the very best for your research and your lives.
