[Collegio.phd_mne] PhD in Micro- and Nano-Electronics - yearly student assessment

Dear all,

on *Friday, March 13, and Tuesday, March 24, 2026*, the Evaluation 
Committee of the PhD Courses in Micro- and Nano-Electronics will convene 
for the yearly assessment of the activity of the first, second and third 
year students. The meeting will take place in the Magenta seminar room. 
A zoom link, for students and committee members who cannot attend in 
person, will be set up and circulated before the meeting. In view of the 
Evaluation Committee meeting, the students need to comply with the 
following requirements.

*First and second year students* are required to provide an *annual 
activity report* describing the main results of the research activity 
carried out during the last year. The report *must not exceed four 
pages, plus the cover page and the list of the educational activities 
("consuntivo dei crediti acquisiti") carried out during the last year 
together with the credits acquired during the previous year* (case of 
second year students). The report must be validated by the student's 
supervisor. A copy of the report in pdf format must be sent by email to 
myself (*lodovico.ratti a unipv.it*) and to Alice Albini 
(*alice.albini a unipv.it*) by *Friday, March 20*. For your report you are 
invited to use one of the two templates (word or latex) included in the 
attached zip archive (templates.zip). Please comply with the indications 
in the files.

*Second and third year students* are required to prepare an *oral 
presentation* on their research activity, to be given during the 
Evaluation Committee meeting. For their presentation, second year 
students will have *15 minutes*, while third year students will have *30 
minutes, including a 5 minute slot for Q&A*. Presentations will be given 
according the schedule in the attached document, which includes agenda 
of the Committee meeting (*AGENDA-PhD-MNE_Mar2026.pdf*). The document 
also includes the list of first-year students that are supposed to 
deliver their report.

*Third year students, *applying for admission to the final PhD 
examination, should also submit an abstract of their thesis manuscript 
to the Committee, together with *the list of the educational activities 
carried out during the last year together with the credits acquired 
during the previous years*. A copy of the abstract with acquired credits 
must be sent to myself (*lodovico.ratti a unipv.it*) and to Alice Albini 
(*alice.albini a unipv.it*) again by *Tuesday, March 10.*

To summarize:

- *first year students*: annual activity report + list of educational 
activities by *Friday, March 20*;

- *second year students*: annual activity report + list of educational 
activities by *Friday, March 20* + oral presentation (15 min) *according 
to the attached agenda*;

- *third year students*: thesis abstract + list of educational 
activities by *Tuesday, March 10* + oral presentation (30 min, 25 min 
presentation + 5 min Q&A) *according to the attached agenda*.
