Dear all,

as a part of the series of seminars *"Insalate di Matematica"*, we remind
you that today there will be a seminar held by Alberto Dayan (University
in St. Louis). Here the details:

*Google Meet access link*: meet.google.com/tnq-ayuh-ohw

*Date and time*: *10th* *February 2021, 4:00 pm **(**be careful with the
change of starting time**)*

*Speaker*: *Alberto Dayan*

*Title*: *"The Hilbert Space Approach on Interpolating Sequences"*

*Abstract*: Interpolating sequences for bounded holomorphic functions were
characterized by the celebrated work of Carleson between 1958 and 1962. The
problem of extending such results to more general settings has been a great
field of interest ever since, and a valuable tool for doing so is the study
of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces and their multiplier algebras. In this
talk we will review the main definitions and results that constitute the
classic theory of interpolating sequences, and we will highlight how the
correspondence between the hyperbolic geometry of the unit disc and the
Euclidean geometry of the Hardy space re-phrases Carleson’s results in a
Hilbert space language. This is fundamental to extend such results to more
general settings: we will talk briefly about interpolating sequences in the
polydisc and interpolating sequences of matrices, time permitting.

*Keywords*: Interpolating sequences, Pick property.

*** We inform you that this talk will be recorded and uploaded on our
website. If you join the seminar after the starting time, we kindly ask you
to ensure that your microphone and webcam are turned off ***

We are looking forward to seeing you.

The organizers: Luigi Appolloni, Federico Bernini, Francesca Cottini, Luca
Di Gravina, Ludovico Marini
