[Dottorcomp] PhD course on Introduction to Mathematical Optimal Control Theory

Dear PhD Students and dear Colleagues,

Prof. Stefano Demichelis will teach a course on Introduction to
Mathematical Optimal Control, with lectures in Aula Beltrami, Dept. of
Mathematics, every Friday morning, from 9 to 12 from April 12 to May 10,
2024, with the addition of a couple of Mondays from 3 to 5 pm (to be
decided).

The course will cover material from  the books:
- Lawrence C. Evans, An Introduction to Mathematical Optimal Control
Theory, available here: https://math.berkeley.edu/~evans/control.course.pdf
- Bardi & Capuzzo Dolcetta,
- Phillip A. Griffiths, Exterior Differential Systems and the Calculus of
Variations,
-  Agrachev, Geometric control theory (for applications to stability of
satellites, Lie grups, etc.)
-  M. I. Zelikin v. F. Borisov, Theory of Chattering Control
-  Isaacs, Differential Games.

Next week prof. Demichelis will also give a preparatory course with
introductory lectures on  Elementary optimal control theory, based on
Evans' book. This pre-course will meet in Aula L, Dipartimento di Scienze
Economiche, starting on Monday Monday at 9-11 and 13-15.
